Q: What are the eligibility requirements to enroll?
A: Students must be in grades K-12, be age 19 (21 for special needs students) or younger, and live in Alabama. We work with students who qualify for the Creating Hope and Opportunity for Our Students’ Education Act of 2024 (The CHOOSE Act).
Q: What grade levels are offered?
A: We serve students in grades K-12.
Q: Are there enrollment application deadlines?
A: We are open for enrollment throughout the school year. Students can enroll and start taking classes at any point during the school year.
Q: Are there any out-of-pocket expenses to attend?
A: Yes, we have a flat Tuition each quarter. To learn more about the cost of TAA – Alabama, visit our Tuition page. If you are attending The American Academy – Alabama under the CHOOSE Act, your funds will cover tuition costs.
Q: Are there any face-to-face requirements?
A: All of your coursework will be completed 100% online, and you will not be required to attend any face-to-face sessions. All your meetings with teachers, coaches, and tutors will be conducted online.
Q: What are the graduation requirements for this program?
A: To earn your high school diploma, you will need to complete a total of 24 credits in various subjects. More details can be found on the Graduation Requirements page.
Q: How long will it take to complete my high school diploma?
A: That depends on how many credits you transfer in. TAA – Alabama students are full-time and expected to make steady monthly progress equivalent to a full school year’s credits over 12 months. A student enrolling with no high school credits is expected to graduate in four years. At The American Academy – Alabama, you can graduate as soon as you meet all the requirements – no need to wait until May!

A: Yes! Families who qualify for the CHOOSE Act can use those funds to cover costs.
